FATBOY Slim was among the thousands who took part in the Brighton Color Run at the weekend.

They gathered on the seafront for the fifth annual event, with runners ending the 5km race coated in a multitude of vibrant colours.

More than 6,000 people took part in the race and Brighton was the last stop on this year’s tour, following events in Manchester and London.

DJ Fatboy, who has a house in the Western Esplanade on Hove seafront, tweeted a picture of himself along with the caption: “Filthy dirty 5km Color Run.”

Martin Leppard was one of the thousands who ran in the sunshine on Saturday.

He suffers from complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), a rare condition brought on from a past injury.

Last month we reported Martin’s story. He was hit by a car in London Road four years ago, sparking the condition which brings intense pain to the left side of his body and he struggles to even walk around his house.

But the 32-year-old father completed the Color Run in one hour and 45 minutes.

He said: “It wasn’t easy. Having my family and friends with me helped keep me going.

“There were a couple of points where the pain in my arm got too bad and I had to stop but we did it.”

Martin managed to raise a total of £750 but thinks he will hit the £1,000 mark after other donations roll in.

He said: “I wanted to prove to myself I could do it and raise awareness for CRPS, which I have.”

An event spokesman said: “Brighton was a fantastic location for the final leg of this year’s tour, and it was great to see thousands of people turn up to join the fun.”
