An investigation has been launched into a suspected acid attack.

A "concerned" member of the public called Sussex Police at about 7.40pm yesterday saying two people had "an unknown liquid thrown over them" in Castle Street, Hastings.

The two victims, described as being of mixed race and in their late teens, went off in the direction of the old town before police arrived.

Their whereabouts and the extent of their injuries are unknown at this stage.
