PEOPLE are being asked for their views about aircraft noise caused by Gatwick Airport.

Communities Against Gatwick Noise and Emission (CAGNE) has launched a survey of residents in Sussex and is urging as many as possible to take part.

The aim is to see whether noise has improved or worsened for them since concentrated flight paths were introduced.

People are also being asked if they think there should be a ban on night flights and if they support the airport’s desire for expansion.

CAGNE chairwoman Sally Pavey said: “We encourage everyone who hears aircraft noise, whether it be Gatwick arrivals, departures or both, to take part.

“This way we can produce a truly independent survey of communities attitudes towards aircraft noise.

“The survey will then go forward to the Government as part of the Department for Transport call for evidence on how aircraft noise significantly affects lives, wellbeing and the impact it has on sleep.”

People have got until the end of December to take part in the survey.
