ARMED police officers were on patrol inside Sussex's busiest shopping centre.
Officers with guns were spotted by shoppers in Churchill Square yesterday.
A spokesman for the force said they were not in "as the result of any specific incident" adding that it was "possibly training exercise."
Armed patrols at the shopping centre were stepped up after the Parsons Green terror attack last month.
