A 41-YEAR-OLD man was stabbed in the chest during an altercation with another man.

An altercation is reported to have taken place between two men shortly before the incident occurred in The Broadway, Crawley town centre, at about 11.15am on Tuesday.

The victim, a local man, was taken to East Surrey Hospital in Redhill, where he was treated for a chest wound which is not life-threatening nor life-changing.

The suspect is said to have made off from the scene in the direction of High Street.

He is described as white, about 6ft, of slim build, in his early 20s, wearing a bright white baseball cap, a black puffer jacket, blue skinny jeans and red Nike trainers.

He was also carrying a multi-tone blue rucksack.
