MORE than 300 visitors attended an open day at Moulsecoomb Community Leisure Centre.

Visitors could take part in circus skills, karate, walking football, short mat bowls, baby ballet and kickboxing.

The activities were chosen to appeal to a wide audience, ensuring there was something for all ages to try.

There was also soft play available for young children to enjoy and a Halloween roller disco in the evening.

Joby Johnson, Freedom Leisure centre manager, said: “We are over the moon with the success of the event.

“The aim was to encourage locals to be active and it certainly achieved that.

“The centre was buzzing and everyone seemed to really enjoy trying out new activities.

“Moulsecoomb Community Centre is, as its name suggests, all about the community. The suburb of Moulsecoomb is slightly remote from the centre of Brighton and as a result the community can be a little removed, making them less involved with an active lifestyle.

“Freedom Leisure, along with the council, are committed to supporting local residents to be more active and it is for this reason that we are so delighted so many people attended the open day.”

The event was also attended by deputy mayor, councillor Dee Simson.
