A HOSPICE has closed its car park for about eight weeks while improvement works are carried out.

The changes at The Martlets in Wayfield Avenue, Hove, include levelling the slope at the main entrance and resurfacing and expanding facilities in the top car park

A new entrance is also planned for the inpatient unit.

The hospice says the project will help improve access.

Visitors, staff, and volunteers are asked to consider an alternative method of transport to get to the hospice during this time.

Options include walking, using public transport or lift sharing.

The Martlets is on the Number 5/5A bus route and a short walk from Aldrington train station.

For those with mobility issues, there will be a drop-off/pick off point at the inpatient unit entrance.

Anyone who is driving is asked to allow plenty of time to find a parking space.

Limited parking is available on the surrounding roads around the hospice but they are in residential areas.

Those who choose to drive and park when going to the hospice are asked to show consideration for people living in the area.
