A SOCIAL worker from Sussex Partnership who works tirelessly to protect vulnerable people from harm has been recognised by Sussex Police for her work.
Marian Trendell is a deputy director and principal social worker at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
She was awarded the Certificate of Merit by Sussex Police at the East Sussex Divisional Awards.
It was awarded in recognition of her professionalism and expertise in bringing together partner agencies and organisations to manage a serious safeguarding concern about a vulnerable adult last year.
Sussex Police officers were also recognised for their vital contribution in this case.
Di Roskilly, Sussex Police Chief Superintendent, said: “This was an absolutely exceptional piece of work by all involved and a great example of true partnership, working to keep people safe.
“The help and expertise provided by Marian was exceptional and she played a key role in helping to prevent an unimaginable atrocity.
Marian said: “It’s a great honour to receive this award because in reality, I was only doing my job and it would not be possible for me to do my job effectively if it were not for all the excellent partner organisations we work with.
“This award is a result of a real team effort and I am very grateful that has been recognised, and I would like to thank Sussex Police for that.”
Marian has been a loyal employee of Sussex Partnership for nearly 30 years.
