A WRESTLING spectacular will be held this Christmas.

For many years the event has been held in the festive period at Worthing Assembly Hall.

However, this year it will be at Impulse Leisure Centre at Lancing Manor on December 29.

John Freemantle, who is putting on the event, said: “Our new regular venue in Worthing, the St Paul’s Centre, is closed during the period between Christmas and the New Year, so it wasn’t possible to put the show on there.

“It has become something of an annual tradition with the fans, rather like the pantomime or the ice show, so I am sure everyone would have been disappointed if there had not been a Christmas show.

“We are hoping the fans who normally come to the show will go the few miles to Lancing to support this year’s event, and a lot of new fans will turn up, too, at a venue where the event has not been before.”

The event will see wrestlers compete for the 2017 Rumblemania Trophy.

Wrestlers will be eliminated by being thrown out of the ring over the top rope.

The last man standing will be declared the winner.

Among the top names already booked to appear are Wonder Kid Jonny Storm, Australian hell-raiser Josh Shooter Zuccato, Dazzling Darrell Allen and local favourite Barry Cooper.

There will also be tag-team and solo bouts at the event.

Tickets are priced £10.

Concessions and special family tickets will also be available.

To book call the leisure centre on 01903 524624.

Organisers have said a full programme of wrestling events will be held next year in Sussex.
