TEENAGERS learned more about film making at Duke of York’s Picture House Cinema in Brighton.
The event, Cosmat, was supported by Brighton Film School and started with a Q&A between film educator Mark Ramey from Collyer’s Sixth Form College, Horsham, interviewing film director Ben Wheatley about his journey into film-making and his film Sightseers.
Clips from the film illustrated Ben’s unique brand of quirky low-budget black comedy.
The 260 A-level and Btec students and their teachers were treated to the award-winning acclaimed British documentary feature film 20,000 Days On Earth.
They were able to enjoy the Brighton settings that inspire musician Nick Cave and saw how he draws from his creative muses, including Kylie Minogue and his wife Susie.
Directors Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard took part in a script-to-screen discussion with students led by film educator and organiser Julian Bowker.
