ALBION fans have mocked Crystal Palace after the club released blueprints for the small redevelopment of their stadium.

The Eagles unveiled what will be the new-look main stand at Selhurst Park on Monday – but hawk-eyed Seagulls supporters noticed something striking about the plans.

The new design looks almost identical to the Amex stadium’s West Stand, with an arch looming over the three-tiered structure.

Albion fans took to Twitter to tease their Palace counterparts who were celebrating their club’s announcement.

One Palace supporter tweeted a video of the modernised stadium, asking: “Be honest, how many times have you watched this video? I’m at about 50.”

Albion fan Brett Mendoza had a tongue-in-cheek response for him.

“Having watched it for the first time, I think your new ground looks really nice,” he quipped – along with pictures of the Amex’s West Stand and the new Selhurst Park stand.

Another sharp-tongued Seagull tweeted the same images and said: “When all you want in life is to be like your rivals #bhafc #cpfc.”

An Eagles’ fan replied saying, “ours is better”, to which the Albion supporter said, “To be fair it’s about time they did something to bring Selhurst into the 21st century.”

The announcement came on the same day the arch-rivals were drawn against each other in the FA Cup third round to be played at the Amex next month, and just days after their heated affair in the Premier League.

Last Tuesday was the first time the sides have met in more than four years, renewing a bitter rivalry which became prominent back in the 1970s.
