PADDINGTON and Downton star Hugh Bonneville came to Ardingly and helped celebrate one of the little bear’s favourite foods – marmalade.
He joined Kathy Gore, chairwoman of Friends of Sussex Hospices, at the charity’s Christmas gift fair to support the local launch of the Dalemain Marmalade Awards, which help raise money for hospice care.
Entry fees for the awards are donated to a hospice of the entrant’s choice and the competition winner has the opportunity to have their marmalade made and sold by Fortnum and Mason.
The fair, sponsored by Batcheller Monkhouse, raised more than £8,250 for FSH, run entirely by volunteers to support all 12 hospice care providers looking after people in Sussex.
