A person has been taken to hospital after being trapped in a car.
Firefighters helped release the casualty, after two cars crashed on the A27 between Hollingbury and Falmer westbound on Friday night around 10.40pm.
Police were also attendance.
After being freed from the car, the casualty was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
The road was closed off with diversions sent through Brighton up Coldean Lane.
The road was later reopened.
