ACTOR and comedian Chris Addison will present coverage of The Glyndebourne Opera Cup.
Mr Addison, best known for his appearances on television programmes Mock the Week and The Thick Of It, is a passionate opera fan.
He will host the coverage on Sky Arts with opera singer Danielle de Niese on March 23 and 24 next year.
The competition will be the inaugural Opera Cup at internationally renowned venue Glyndebourne.
Mr Addison said: “It is a complete joy and, let’s be honest, a privilege to be part of The Glyndebourne Opera Cup.
“I love opera and I have done since I came across Mozart’s The Magic Flute in my late twenties; the unbelievable music, the insane plots and most of all humans doing things with their voices that are so beautiful they seem almost impossible.”
Glyndebourne chief executive Gus Christie said: “Chris has been making me laugh since his turn as the hapless Ollie in The Thick of It. I look forward very much to welcoming him to Glyndebourne.”
The Glyndebourne Opera Cup 2018 focuses on the work of Mozart and singers aged between 21 and 28 were invited to apply.
