TWO teenagers have been released on bail in connection with the stabbing in Hangleton this weekend.

They were two of six boys arrested after two men were assaulted near the Grenadier pub in Queens Parade at around 10pm on Friday.

One of the men, both in their 20s, sustained “serious stab wounds” and was rushed to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for treatment.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Three of the arrested boys are aged 15 and the other three 16.

Witnesses said the man was attacked by a group of others outside the nearby estate agent, opposite the Grenadier.

Sussex Police confirmed yesterday that one of the 15-year-olds and one of the 16-year-olds, both from Hove, have been released on bail until February 10.

Richard Taylor, the pub’s manager, told The Argus on Saturday: “It was 200 yards away from us outside the estate agents.

“The lad that was stabbed was attacked in front of the estate agents then he was brought over this way and we called for help.

“I don’t think any of them had been in the pub at all.”

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
