THREE people have been arrested and one convicted as part of a police operation to tackle drugs.

Sussex Police made all of the arrests in Worthing on Thursday, January 4.

While on foot patrol the Worthing Prevention Team spotted Karlie Everson, 31, from Ashford who was seen to be acting suspiciously.

She was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of class A drugs - cocaine and heroin.

She was remanded in custody and appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, where she was given a 14-week prison sentence and a fine of £115.

Two men, aged 30 and 42, were then separately arrested on suspicion with intent to supply cocaine and heroin.

Both men have been released under investigation.

Finally, the team spotted Ella Rochford, 23, from Worthing, who was wanted in connection with a theft on Wednesday, January 3.

She was arrested and charged with theft from a shop and bailed to appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
