CHIC have been announced as headliners for Brighton Pride 2018.
The legendary disco group, fronted by songwriter Nile Rodgers, will perform at the new LoveBN1Fest event in Preston Park on Sunday, August 5.
Best known for their hit songs Good Times, Le Freak and I Want Your Love, Chic were formed in New York City in 1976 by Rodgers and bassist Bernard Edwards.
They have released eight albums in the course of their on-off career. The current incarnation of the band has been touring since 1996.
Rogers has written music for iconic pop artists such as Madonna, Diana Ross, David Bowie and Eric Clapton. In 2013, he produced Daft Punk's chart-topping hit Get Lucky featuring Pharrell Williams.
LoveBN1Fest is a new Sunday festival in the Brighton Pride weekend. As well as live music there will be dance tents, circus skills, cabaret, spoken word, theatre and a wellbeing area.
Entry is free for children under 11. For more information visit Brighton-Pride.org
