A BUILDER has donated £1,000 to group that encourages people with Down’s Syndrome to play table tennis.
Persimmon Homes South East has given the money to T21 Brighton and Hove through its “community champions” scheme.
The club, which offers friendship, support and opportunities to children and young people with Down’s Syndrome has been running a pilot T21 (Trisomy 21) Table Tennis club every month with Brighton Table Tennis Club.
Philippa Hodge, spokeswoman for the club, said: “Table tennis is very well suited to our youngsters as it’s social, very sensory and an all-year sport, whatever the weather.
“It helps to build fitness, stamina and muscle tone.
“The sessions cost around £160 per month and we would love to keep it going as our youngsters really enjoy it.”
