A CAR has overturned after mounting a curb and hitting a tree.
The incident took place just before 5pm today in Preston Road, Brighton, which was closed to traffic in the northbound lane.
Sussex Police said it appears that two people were in the car and initial reports suggest that both escaped without any injuries.
Emergency services are at the scene by Preston Park and bus services are currently being diverted.
Brighton and Hove Buses tweeted: “Due to a Police matter by Preston Park resulting in a road closure, northbound, our #BH5 and #BH5A services towards Patcham are diverted via Beaconsfield Villas (5B route) and Preston Drove - they will resume normal route from the Preston Drove bus stop.”
