PAUL POGBA could return to Manchester United’s starting line-up against Albion as they try to recover from their Champions League exit.

The French midfielder is on course for Saturday night’s FA Cup quarter-final at Old Trafford after returning to contention in United’s 2-1 defeat at home to Sevilla last night.

Pogba missed last Saturday’s win against Liverpool with an injury sustained in training.

Jose Mourinho named him on the bench for the second leg last 16 tie against Sevilla.

He replaced Marouane Fellaini after an hour, but goals by Sevilla’s French substitute Wissam Ben Yedder on 74 and 78 minutes put Sevilla through to the quarter-finals following the 0-0 draw in the first leg in Spain.

Romelu Lukaku pulled a goal back for United on 83 minutes.

Pogba could be joined in Mourinho’s starting line-up for Albion’s visit by fellow countryman Anthony Martial.

The winger also came off the bench against Sevilla after missing the victories against Crystal Palace and Liverpool with an unspecified injury.

The result ended United’s run of five straight wins at Old Trafford in 2018 and heaps the pressure on Mourinho’s men for Albion’s visit. The FA Cup is now their only chance of winning a trophy.

United boss Mourinho said: “That’s football, we lost, but tomorrow is another day and Saturday is another match. I’m pleased the players aren’t hiding their sadness, but we have no time for drama.”
