Albion striker Glenn Murray has been overlooked by England boss Gareth Southgate.

The 34-year-old does not feature in Gareth Southgate's Three Lions squad for friendlies against Holland in Amsterdam on March 23 and Italy at Wembley four days later.

An injury to Harry Kane, who suffered a recurrence of right ankle ligament damage in Tottenham's win at Bournemouth at the weekend, raised hopes that in-form Murray would be selected.

He has scored 11 goals in the Premier League this season, five of them in his last six appearances, to spearhead newly promoted Albion to 11th in the table with eight games to go.

Murray also scored the winners in the third and fourth rounds of the FA Cup against old club Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough to help the Seagulls through to Saturday night's quarter-final against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

There is no place in Southgate's squad either for Albion team-mate Lewis Dunk.

Burnley central defender James Tarkowski has received a first call-up, together with goalkeeping colleague Nick Pope.

Murray responded to being overlooked, along with Dunk, with a light-hearted tweet.
