Residents were evacuated from a three-storey flat after a fire was started at the second floor.
Four fire engines were called to Davigdor Road, Hove, at 1.29pm yesterday where the fire was started on the second floor.
Six breathing apparatus were used as well as two hose reel.
All persons were accounted for and there were no reports of injuries.
The fire was put out and ventilation undertaken.
The electrics were isolated by crews. The cause of the fire was accidental.
