THE long-suffering families of the victims of the Shoreham Airshow disaster are hoping to find out if the pilot will be charged this week.

They will have a meeting with the Crown Prosecution Service on Wednesday to give them an update on the criminal investigation into Andy Hill, the pilot of the Hawker Hunter jet when it crashed on to the A27 in August 2015.

Mr Hill was first interviewed under caution in December 15 for possible manslaughter by gross negligence and interviewed again later but has never been formally arrested or charged..

No inquest has yet been held with the coroner waiting for a conclusion to the police investigation.

The Hawker Hunter jet crashed during the airshow, killing 11 men.

The pilot Andy Hill, who was carrying out an aerobatic manoeuvre at the time, was among 13 others who were injured. Last March the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) listed a series of failings which led to the crash.
