A DECISION is expected in a matter of hours on whether pilot Andy Hill will be charged in relation to the Shoreham Airshow disaster.

The families of the eleven men killed when Hill's Hawker Hunter jet crashed into the A27 in August 2015 are being brought together to meet prosecutors tonight at Sussex Police's Lewes headquarters.

It is understood the CPS will confirm whether they are pressing charges.

Investigations have been underway since moments after Hill's 1955 jet hit the dual carriageway at 1.22pm on August 22, 2015.

The official investigation by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch concluded that the crash resulted from pilot error.

Sussex Police have confirmed Hill is being investigated for possible mansalughter by gross negligence, and for endangerment in relation to Article 138 Air Navigation Order 2009.

News from the meeting is expected around 7.30pm.
