Two restaurants have pledged their support to Martlets hospice by signing up as a Snailspace sponsor.

The Salt Room and The Coal Shed have sites in Brighton and London.

The restaurant group, which has been committed to supporting the Martlets in Hove since 2016, has opted for a longer-term relationship with the charity.

Olivia Reid, general manager at The Salt Room, said: “Snailspace is a fantastic opportunity for us to support a local charity and the wider community in our home town of Brighton.

“The huge success of the Snowdogs trail has opened our eyes to what can happen with the imagination of the public.

“We are honoured to be a part of it.”

Emma Knight, head of corporate and major donor giving at the Martlets, said: “Working with The Salt Room is a delight and we are focused on developing a long-term, mutually beneficial, relationship.

“We’ve already worked on some great projects together and this is the ideal opportunity to deepen our involvement, ensuring that we help them achieve their goals around corporate social responsibility and community engagement, as well as having some fun.

“And, what better way to start than with giant snails.”

The Snailspace campaign has already attracted more sponsors than the highly successful Snowdogs by the Sea and there are just a few more weeks until the deadline.

So anyone interested in sponsoring should get in touch with the Snailspace team as soon as possible.

In autumn 2016, the Martlets teamed up with Wild in Art and Penguin to stage a three-month art trail in Brighton and Hove.

It featured 44 giant Snowdog sculptures inspired by the much loved film, The Snowman And The Snowdog.
