A RUNNER from Eastbourne is running Sunday’s Brighton Marathon to raise money for the Sussex Wildlife Trust.

Russell Gardham will be out and about this week finalising his training regime while dressed as the Trust badger mascot.

Russell expects to complete the 26.2 mile course, wearing the full suit, within five hours.

The Brighton Marathon starts at Preston Park at 9.45am and will finish on Madeira Drive next to the Brighton Palace Pier.

Sussex Wildlife Trust has more than 30,000 members helping to protect the rich natural heritage of Sussex.

A spokesman said: “We exist so that future generations can experience the joy and well-being that comes from connecting with nature in Sussex.

“We are for everyone who cares about nature in Sussex.”
