THE UK’s busiest bandstand launches the season with a bang next Friday evening as The Zoots pay tribute to the ultimate decade of pop in a brand new 80s show with a dazzling firework finale.

The Zoots will recreate the era of ‘Frankie Says’ T-shirts, neon leg warmers and Rubik’s Cubes featuring many of the artists who defined the 80s from Wham and A-Ha to The Jam and Bon Jovi.

This launches Eastbourne Bandstand’s longest season to date running into mid-October, with an unprecedented 130 concerts, along with 20 brand new artists and more fireworks than ever before.

Cllr Margaret Bannister said “After our busiest season yet, we’ve responded with a superb line up of new acts to take us on a musical journey through the decades.

“From Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande to Prince and Guns and Roses, there’s something new for all tastes.

“Concerts do sell out and with ticket sales already booming, I would advise booking ahead to avoid disappointment.”

The weekly tribute season continues on Saturday, April 28 with the ultimate soothing Soul and magical Motown experience from the Motown Collective.

On Wednesday, May 2, the weekly 1812 Fireworks and Proms concerts return with Little Common’s Concert Band of the Royal British Legion.

Music fans can look forward to many more new acts in 2018 from Kings of Leon, Stereophonics and Bryan Adams, to ELO, The Kinks, Bruce Springsteen and Led Zeppelin.

The Peter Pan of Pop, Cliff Richard, makes his tribute debut, while The Rat Pack brings a special tribute show in September following successful performances at the O2, Leicester Square and for Royal Command.

Many favourites are set to return too including Take That and Abba.
