THE 2018 Lawn Bowls season has started.
The Deputy Mayor of Brighton and Hove, Councillor Dee Simson, was greeted by the Chairman of Portslade Bowls Club Ray Aylward and members of the Club.
She delivered the first bowl of the season and then had tea in the clubhouse. Councillor Simson commented on the enjoyment of playing bowls with friends in beautiful sunshine.
Chairman Ray told the Mayor Elect Dee Simson that this could be the last time a mayor would open the season at this ground where the Portslade Bowls Club have enjoyed playing for nearly sixty years.
The club looks forward to the proposed move to a new state of the art Bowling Green across the road in Victoria Recreation ground.
