Special occasions are celebrated at this house all year round, from Christmas to Halloween – and Harry and Meghan’s wedding is no different.

Ollie Slim and Ollie Blackaby live in Highcroft Villas in Brighton.

They have covered their Victorian home in Union Jack flags and bunting especially for the big day.

They have even put a lifesized cut-out of the couple in the window.

Ollie Slim, a cabin manager for Thomas Cook, said: “We live in a lovely area with two schools nearby.

“The children that walk past can’t wait to see what we do next.

“In the current political climate, it is nice to put a smile on people’s faces.

“My mum loves the royals and I have always been fascinated by British culture and history.

“Having this on the front of our house also means we get to speak to people we wouldn’t normally talk to, like the lady walking past the other day who told me we had put one of the flags upside down, which would have been treason back in the day.

“We bought the cardboard cut-outs online. I love the creativity of decorating the house.

“We will be having a private garden party on the day to celebrate and we have told all our guests they have to wear a hat.”

Aside from the fun and frivolities, Mr Slim thinks this wedding is a significant one because Miss Markle is of mixed race and will be the first American divorcee to marry into the Royal Family since Edward VIII abdicated to wed Wallis Simpson.

He said: “Harry has been open about wanting to change the way people perceive the Royal Family.

“This wedding goes against the grain and is breaking boundaries.”

Several street parties, which are open to the public, will be taking place around Brighton and Hove tomorrow.

The roads where the parties are being held will be closed.

In Powis Road, Brighton, The Crescent Pub is organising a street party which will be starting at 10.30am and going on until late.

Helen Stroker, who is organising the event, said: “We will have a stage with live bands, a bouncy castle, a children’s craft area and a hog roast.

“We are raising funds for children’s charity Rockinghorse and Mind.”

David Flack has organised a street party in St Leonards Road in Hove from noon to 7pm.

There will be a St Leonards Got Talent competition, pavement chalks and giant jenga.

Proceeds from their Pimm’s bar will go to Shelter.
