TALENT 2018, the festival of jobs and skills for the digital, media and tech industries, is taking place in Brighton from June 5 to 7.

Powered by Wired Sussex, it is aimed at supporting the region’s thriving digital, media and technology businesses.

Talent 2018 helps businesses hire, nurture and keep the most talented people.

It will connect people to the jobs and contacts they need to succeed in Brighton’s fastest growing business sector.

Phil Jones, managing director of Wired Sussex, said: “As a regional digital cluster, our goal should be nothing less than being the best place in the UK to attract and nurture the talent we need to grow and thrive.

“Talent 2018 demonstrates how we can make that a reality when we work together.”

On day one there will be a jobs fair from 11am until 4pm at Brighton Dome.

It is open to anyone interested in a digital career and will be packed with opportunities to talk to and learn from companies.

Recruiting firms attending include Brandwatch, iCrossing, Brightwave, Cogapp, Dabapps, Fresh Egg, Natives Group, Lumesse, West Pier Studio, William Reed Media, MAG interactive, The Student Room Group, Hyve Managed Hosting, INVIQA, Gene Commerce, Reward Cloud, Further my Future, Wired Sussex, Hare Digital, Make Real, Jollywise, Bozboz, Trusted Housesitters, Graphite Digital, SaleCycle.

There will be talks from Clearleft, Legal and General, Propellernet, Think Nation, Brightwave, Ocasta, Dabapps, Wired Sussex and Hare Digital.

The National Careers Service will be giving advice and running a free CV clinic.

You will be able to interact with Make Real’s virtual reality demo studio and check out the University of Brighton’s Circus in a Box installation.

Day two is the skills summit, taking place from 9.15am until 3pm at the Sallis Benney Theatre in Grand Parade, Brighton.

It is a peer-to-peer conference where CEOs, senior managers and entrepreneurs join inspiring leaders and thinkers for a practical conversation about the sector’s biggest skills challenges and innovations.

The keynote speech is from Uber’s head of cities, south and east of England, Eugenie Teasley.

She will be speaking on Workplace Culture: What Happens When It Goes Really, Really Wrong?

Other confirmed speakers include Claire Hopkins, founding director of Ideal Networks, Tom Chute, people operations director of Pragmatic, and Rob Verheul, MD of Graphite Digital.

Day three is the portfolio clinic from 6pm until 8.30pm at the Sallis Benney Theatre.

This enables young people who want to pursue a creative or design-led career in the digital, media or tech sector to get tailored one-to-one advice from top industry professionals.
