What is your favourite place in Sussex?

Devil’s Dyke. It is my favourite place for a day date with my partner, to do a circular walk down through the valley, the village, stopping in the pub for a pint and wandering back up the hill.

Gorgeous views and beautiful in all weathers.

What do you love most about living in Sussex?

I feel like I found my true home here for many reasons. The main thing is the sense of creative community in Brighton, the way it feels so small here.

You can bump into people you know wandering around The Lanes, but also it is in reality big and so there is continually the opportunity to meet new amazing people.

I love how open and accepting people are and it’s so great how you can be in the city one minute and the next be on the beach or in the Downs.

What advice would you give your 12-year-old self?

Don’t worry about your sexuality, it’s OK to like girls and you can be who you want to be. Just wait and have faith.

What is your most valued possession?

The archive of my late mother’s work and life.

What is your biggest regret?

Not spending more time with family members before they left this world.

What is your biggest fear?

Death, because of the uncertainty and that it is truly something we cannot control nor know.

What is your proudest achievement?

Completing my degree in psychosocial studies at Birkbeck College. I received a first and won a prize for my work.

Which five people (living or dead) would you invite to your fantasy dinner party?

Joanna Lumley

Frida Kahlo

Judith Butler

Stephen Fry

Maya Angelou.
