A tent in a seafront square was cordoned off as a crime scene by police after a reported sex attack.
Officers were called to the incident at 5pm in Bedford Square in Brighton yesterday.
An image from the scene was posted on the Brighton Cam Twitter page, which shows that a camping tent was set up overnight on Monday this week.
Later officers arrived to cordon off the area around the tent and nearby bushes, following a report by a woman in her 20s that she had been sexually assaulted.
It is understood that the alleged attack took place inside the tent.
A 48-year-old man from Shoreham was arrested in connection with the crime, and remains in police custody.
