TROUBLESOME tenants have had their drug den flat shut down.
The property at Wellesley Court, off High Street in Hastings, has been closed for the next three months following persistent antisocial behaviour and disturbances.
Drug dealing was one of the problems reported to authorities, and a case for a closure order was approved by Brighton magistrates on Thursday.
The order means no one is allowed to enter the flat for the next three months.
Chief Insp Steve Curry, district police commander for Hastings and Rother, said: “As I have emphasised before, drug dealing and anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated within our community.
“This is one means by which we can combat such problems and clearly demonstrate our intent. Those concerned in such activities should be in no doubt that we will take robust and decisive action whenever such offences are encountered.”
If you have information about drug dealing or other crimes in your neighbourhood, call Sussex Police on 101 to report it.
