HAYWARDS Heath Foodbank is one of the lucky charities to benefit from the CALA Homes Community Bursary scheme in Sussex.

Now in its second year, the scheme aims to provide support for a wide range of local charities, schools and good causes.

Eleven schemes have been selected to receive funding, helping them to continue the vital work they do within the community.

Successful applicants include a wide range of community support groups.

John Kennedy, regional MD for CALA Homes (South Home Counties), said: “We were overwhelmed by the response to this year’s community bursary and the fantastic work that is being carried out across Sussex.

“Due to the sheer number and calibre of entries, the selection process was particularly tough but we are confident that the organisations selected will be able to use the funds to make a real difference in the work they do.

“We would like to thank everyone who took the time to apply and congratulate them on the significant contribution they are making to the local community.”
