MORE than 3,000 football fans flocked to the beach on Monday night to watch England’s World Cup opener against Tunisia.

They turned out in droves to view the action on Luna Beach Cinema’s big screen - the highest definition outdoor screen in the country.

And those who stayed to the end were rewarded when skipper Harry Kane headed home the winner in stoppage time.

Big screen boss George Wood said the high-definition screen looked “incredible” and it was a “hugely enjoyable night”.

“It was brilliant,” he said.

“There was a really enthusiastic crowd and a really friendly atmosphere.”

Fans went wild as the Three Lions bagged a valuable three points – the first time England have won their opening group game since 2006.

England play Panama on Sunday at 1pm.

The screen is showing every game of the World Cup.

Entry costs from £3.
