Images of a suspect involved in an alleged violent bottle attack in Whitehawk Road in Brighton have been released by the police.
Detectives say the suspect approached his victim, then punched and headbutted him to the floor before hitting him in the face with a bottle when he was on the floor.
The victim was reportedly having a row with his girlfriend in Whitehawk Road at 11.45pm on Friday, June 1.
The two were approached by the suspect, who attacked the 42-year-old victim.
He suffered a broken jaw and head injuries during the alleged attack and had to be taken to hospital.
Police say the suspect is white with thick black hair which is shaven around the sides.
He has a black tattoo on the top of one arm, and was wearing a black T-shirt and carried a grey rucksack.
Detective Constable Duncan Lloyd said: "This was a violent attack and we are keen to talk to the man in the CCTV image in connection with the incident.
“If anyone recognises him or has any information about him or what happened, please get in touch with us."
