BRIGHTON Gin has released 1,400 limited edition bottles in eight colour and letter variations a month ahead of Brighton Pride.

The eight-bottle range spells the world BRIGHTON (or creative anagrams!) and the pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet labels reflect the original colours of the iconic Gay Pride Rainbow Flag.

Marking its 40th anniversary this year, it was first used at San Francisco Gay Pride 1978.

The bottles priced at £45 each (700ml) can be bought from independent retailers from Friday and from Brightongin.com.

Some £2 from each bottle will be donated to The Rainbow Fund, the Brighton and Hove based grant-giving fund for local LGBTQ+ and HIV/AIDS organisations.

Founder, distiller and Out In Brighton presenter Kathy Caton said: “Set to be bolder, more beautiful and brilliant than ever, we’re so proud that we host the UK’s biggest Pride Festival in our free-thinking, campaigning (and hedonistic!) home city.

“We want to celebrate that ultimate spirit of Brighton and contribute again to the essential work of the Rainbow Fund in supporting the city’s LGBTQ+ community and voluntary sector”.

Designed by the team that created the original Brighton Gin label, the Pride 2018 bottles feature hand-painted brush strokes by designer Matt Holbrow.
