A street robber abandoned hundreds of chocolate bars after running off with cash.

A 31-year-old victim was walking along West Green Drive in Crawley when he was approached at the roundabout at Pegler Way at 6.30pm on Saturday, June 2.

The suspect threatened to hurt him if he didn’t hand over money, and he feared the suspect had a knife.

But when the suspect fled, he dropped a plastic bag containing 123 Cadbury’s chocolate bars, including Dairy Milks, Wispas, Mint Oreos, and one KitKat.

He is described as black and 6ft tall, with curly hair and a scar on the left side of his face.

Detective Constable Jodie Palmer said: "We have made enquiries across the town and no major retailer has reported losing any such quantity of chocolate bars recently.

“We would like other from any other local business or outlet who may have had these stolen around this time. We would also like to hear from anyone who saw this incident.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote serial 1161 of 02/06.
