The Modfather himself, Paul Weller, sent the crowd at the Concorde 2 into a frenzy last night as he made a surprise appearance on stage with Miles Kane.

The former Jam frontman, who is no stranger to Brighton having played the famous Brighton Centre many times in the last few years, joined the man taking over his mantle for two songs in front of a packed crowd by the seaside.

Having already enraptured the crowd for half a set, Merseyside's God of Mod really didn't need any extra surprises to win over this crowd. However he pulled them out any.

As you'll be able to see in the video, the crowd gets thrown into a frenzy as Weller takes to the stage; kicking off with an original duet of You're Gonna Get It, originally performed by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, before a cover of T-Rex's Get It On.

It was a moment that fans, and even Kane himself, are unlikely to forget in a hurry.

A truly symbolic passing of the Mod torch, right here in Brighton.
