CHILDREN’S charity the NSPCC is calling on people to sign up to its fourth annual Angel’s Abseil.

It offers the chance to descend 115ft down the cliffs at Peacehaven.

The abseil is ideal for those who like extreme sports, fancy a new challenge, or for businesses looking to take part in a team building exercise.

It is part of the Angel’s Walk, organised by Dawn Paul, NSPCC chairwoman of Brighton area volunteers.

Dawn founded the event in November 2013 after her sister died.

She is known as “The Unstoppable Dawn Paul” and has raised £25,000 for the NSPCC.

Dawn, 57, from Peacehaven said: “The Angel’s Abseil is always a really fantastic event and this year we want it to be bigger and better than ever before.

“We want to get even more people taking part and raising money for a worthy cause.

“Spaces are starting to fill up so I would encourage anyone who’s up for a challenge to register quickly.

“I would also like to thank everyone for their continued support of my fundraising for the NSPCC.”

Kate Hershowitz, NSPCC community fundraising manager for Sussex, said: “Dawn’s fundraising has taken her from the cliffs of Peacehaven to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro – she is an inspiration to everyone at the NSPCC.

“Her efforts over the last few years have made an incredible difference to the lives of vulnerable children right across the UK.

“Dawn has helped raised enough money to answer 6,250 contacts to Childline.

“As with all our supporters, we would like to thank Dawn and everyone participating, helping to fight for every childhood.

“If anyone else would like to get involved in fundraising for the NSPCC, we urge them to get in touch.”

There are two sign-up options – as a fundraiser (pay £20 to cover costs and undertake to fundraise a minimum of £50) or the abseil experience (pay £30 to cover costs and give a voluntary donation of £10).
