A thug who broke a resident’s jaw in an unprovoked attack has been jailed.
Aiden Heather confronted Adam Flinders outside a house in Thakeham Close in East Preston near Goring in May.
The 22-year-old had been asked to move on after Mr Flinders believed he was causing criminal damage to the property along with other men in a group.
But 31-year-old Mr Flinders was then set upon by the group, and Heather punched him in the face.
The gang then ran off in the direction of Old Worthing Road, leaving him in agony on the ground.
Paramedics were called and Mr Flinders had to be taken to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester where he had to have surgery for a broken jaw.
Police found Heather and charged him with maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm.
Heather, of Ringmer Road in Worthing admitted the charge when he appeared at Lewes Crown Court on Friday last week.
Judge Charles Kemp sentenced him to 15 months in prison.
