ENGLAND’S dream of a World Cup victory might be over for now but one company is still rooting for the home side.
Seasons Scaffolding hoisted the England flag high when it erected a 120ft by 60ft St George’s Cross on the side of Albany Towers in St Catherine’s Terrace, Hove.
But as England headed into their final game against Belgium on Saturday which they lost 2-0, the scaffolding company added our opponent’s colours to the eight-storey block of flats.
Steve Eason, director of Seasons Scaffolding, said: “We still had third place and a bronze medal to play for, which I think a lot of people were forgetting.
“They have done us proud, they are a young team who were better than the old Gerrard, Rooney and Lampard.
“A lot of people had no expectations for them but they went and had fun and brought us all back together.
“People have fallen back in love with the England side after a lot couldn’t be bothered to watch them.”
