METALLERS were in their element as they turned up to meet one of the UK’s up and coming alternative bands on Sunday.

Bury Tomorrow, who are based in Portsmouth, are currently touring HMV stores to sign copies of their new albums and meet their fans.

Around 100 people queued up at Brighton’s Churchill Square store with their copies of the band’s new album, Black Flame, in their hands to pose for photos with the band.

Released on Friday, Black Flame is the band’s fifth album.

Daniel Winter-Bates, who is a vocalist in the band, said: “We always love to meet our fans, and we chose this store because it is one of the closest to our hometown.

“Quite a few HMV stores have closed in Southampton and Portsmouth, just because of the way the music industry is going.”

The band was at London’s Oxford Street HMV store on Friday, where they also played a live show.

They are heading to Birmingham, Newcastle and Leeds for more HMV signings this week.

Vocalist and guitarist Jason Cameron said: “We recorded this album back in January so it feels like we have been waiting so long to release it.

“It is great to meet with our fans now it is finally here.”

Sam Bendle, 22, and Kate Thompson, 26, were amongst the fans eager to meet one of their favourite bands.

The pair travelled from their home in Hastings especially for the album signing.

Sam said: “I’ve seen them live 14 times.

“They are one of the few bands that sound the same live as they do on albums, if not better, which goes to show their musical talent.

“This album is just as good as all the others.”

Kate said: “I’ve met them loads of times before, they always come and meet their fans after their shows.

“They are one of the best bands for that.

“They don’t believe in the whole VIP thing.

“I love their music because everything they say in their lyrics is so true to real life.

“They say it how it is and are very straight to the point.

“They don’t have a single bad album, or even a bad song.

“You can tell they work so hard and put so many hours in.”

HMV store manager Cat Wallis said: “This is the first signing we have had here since we reopened at the centre in October last year and the entire team can’t wait for this weekend.”

Some of the staff members who are fans of the band also met the band and posed for a photo.

The band will tour the UK in December as part of their European tour.

They play in London on December 15.
