ALL of the architects of Brexit are now running away.

Nigel Farage is now a shock-jock who this week was off fishing endangered sharks.

Boris Johnson and David Davis told us it would be easy, that we’d get £350m a week extra for the NHS, and we’d have the “exact same benefits” outside the EU as we have inside.

They had the privilege of making their dream a reality with two of the most prestigious jobs in government.

Now the time has come for them to show us how they’re doing and they’re running a mile. Quitting.

They lit the fuse and ran away, leaving the rest of us to pick up the pieces.

At the time I voted against triggering Article 50 I told the Commons that government simply wasn’t ready for the negotiations.

Article 50 should have started two years of negotiation with the EU, instead we’ve had 17 months of negotiating with ourselves. I‘m proud to have voted as I did back then.

Finally, I keep being told ‘we’ll be fine on World Trade Organisation rules’.

We will not!

The Single Market is a rules based organisation with a court that enforced the law rigorously.

The WTO is a loose set of agreements with a weak court.

The US has just withdrawn its judge and often countries simply ignore its rulings. Compared to the Single Market the WTO is the Wild West.
