A NEW homeless project has received a donation to support rough sleepers.
The Worthing Churches Homeless Project runs a property in Lyndhurst Road to provide accommodation for 40 men and women who have previously been on the streets.
This week volunteers received a £4,000 donation from the Allchurches Trust to help develop the services provided there.
The money will be used to provide around-the-clock support and to recruit a team of staff.
Project communication manager Gemma Orpwood said: "The project demonstrates what a community working together can achieve."
It is supported by Adur and Worthing District Council, the police, Change Grow Live, and mental health services.
