BRIGHTON and Hove Buses will run its Diversity Bus between Eastbourne Station and Eastbourne Pride at Princes Park on Saturday.

The company will also donate half of each £2 flat single fare to Eastbourne Pride.

Managing Director Martin Harris said: “The Diversity Bus not only celebrates Pride and everything it stands for but is a symbol of our broader support for diversity and inclusion in general.

“We have a long history of supporting diversity across sexual orientation, gender, race and ethnicity, improving services for disabled people, and welcoming refugees.

“We are happy to do our bit as official transport providers in partnership with Eastbourne Pride to help people get safely and quickly to and from the event.

“We’re delighted once again to be running the bus alongside our Pride partners and hope it can help to promote, support and celebrate Eastbourne Pride.”

Eastbourne Pride event operation manager Stephen Halbhuber said: “We’re excited that Brighton and Hove Buses is supporting Eastbourne Pride.

“Its continued support means so much to us and the town.

“We hope to see all the team on what will be a great day in building bridges in equality and diversity.

“Eastbourne Pride only started last year and it has grown in stature massively.

“We think it’s so important that towns like Eastbourne can celebrate the LGBT community.

Brighton Pride is obviously bigger than ours but it’s so encouraging to see other towns like Worthing starting their own as well.

“We are hoping for a bumper Saturday.”

Buses will run from 10am to 7pm.
