KATIE Price is due to meet with police after being caught driving while disqualified.

The mother of five, from Brighton, was snapped getting into a car to take her children home from Gatwick Airport last month, almost six months after she was banned from getting behind the wheel.

Former Page 3 girl Price, 40, was banned from driving in February for speeding at more than 60mph in her Land Rover in Dial Post, close to her Horsham home and later failing to provide driver details. Her ban meant she was not supposed to drive until Wednesday.

She said she contacted police after being caught on camera.

After a whirlwind few months for the Loose Women star which has seen her break up with partner Kieran Hayler and come on the brink of bankruptcy, she said it was down to her thinking the ban was over.

In an Instagram post to fans shortly after the July incident, Price wrote: “Been on such an emotional rollercoaster the last six months and my head has been all over the place, so much so, that I thought my driving ban was up.

“After driving to Harvey’s hospital appointment I have now found out that I don’t get my license back until August 8.

“With this on my conscience I called police and reported myself.

“I’ve come such a long way and just want an easy life now. I have got out of a hole and am finally happy and looking forward to being my old independent self.”

Driving while disqualified can carry a maximum prison sentence of six months and an unlimited fine.

A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: “A woman, who was reported for driving while disqualified, has spoken to police and will attend a police station for interview on an arranged date.”
