AN ARSONIST destroyed her own flat after being told she would be evicted.
Roxy Lee Jackson was found guilty of arson with the intent to endanger life following a trial at Lewes Crown Court.
She set three fires at Butts Meadow in Wisborough Green near Horsham in August last year, but didn’t tell neighbours to warn them.
The 33-year-old was being evicted for antisocial behaviour, and also grew cannabis at the address.
Firefighters were only called after neighbours spotted large smoke plumes coming from the flat.
The blaze caused £40,000 worth of damage.
She was jailed for six years for arson with the intent to endanger life, and for being concerned in the production of cannabis.
Detective Constable David Midgley said: "This case highlights just how dangerous fire can be. Fortunately the neighbours called the fire service, who prevented lives being endangered."
