THE results are out and students across Brighton and Hove and the surrounding area have every reason to celebrate in style.

Parents certainly know the agony the youngsters go through ahead of their exams.

Sleepless nights studying and the associated pressure as nerves and doubt kick in.

It has been a long wait for the results too, with the exams having taken place in June.

But now it is time to relax and enjoy themselves before heading off to university or deciding what else they want to do with their young lives.

It is impossible to list all the achievements by schools and their students here, but there are some notable examples.

For instance, Bhasvic in Hove achieved record-breaking results with a hugely impressive overall pass rate of 99.4 per cent.

On top of that, 57 students received offers from either Oxford or Cambridge universities.

Varndean College in Brighton achieved an overall pass rate of 97.8 per cent while Brighton College also achieved record- breaking results.

Therefore, it is time for a well-earned rest and those who have chosen to opt for university and now have places secured, hopefully at their first choices, they can now chill out until September or, if lucky, October.

Of course, university courses are by no means a doddle either and there is also the prospect of having to take out student loans which, like all other loans, have to be repaid.

But they are about to embark on an adventure that they will never forget and for many it will prove to be the best years of their lives.
