SHANE DUFFY wants to face Romelu Lukaku at the Amex tomorrow.

Albion’s Republic of Ireland centre-half hopes Jose Mourinho picks Lukaku to start for Manchester United so he can test himself against the best.

Lukaku was on the bench for United’s opening Premier League win against Leicester at Old Trafford following his World Cup exertions with semi-finalists Belgium.

Albion, along with promoted Cardiff and Wolves, are the only teams Lukaku has yet to score against in the Premier League.

He was on target against the Seagulls in the FA Cup quarter-finals at Old Trafford last season but Duffy, pictured, and partner Lewis Dunk kept him off the scoresheet in the earlier 1-0 league defeat.

Lukaku was then sidelined by injury when Albion beat United 1-0 at the Amex in May to seal survival in their first season back in the top flight.

Duffy told The Argus: “I sort of know his game a little bit. Obviously, he is a world class and he’s the main point for their team as well.

“But as you’ve seen we played against them with Rashford up top and we beat them 1-0.

“You sort of get used to playing against different kind of strikers over a season. If it is a Rashford you just have to play your game different.

“If it’s Lukaku you have got to be strong and physical. I think when we played them up there we did alright against him.

“You like to play against the best. I’d like him to play but obviously he might be too good sometimes! If he plays it’s great for me to test myself.

“That’s the joy of the league. Lukaku wasn’t ready to start the Leicester game, but they’ve still got Rashford, Martial, Sanchez and all these players that can play.

“It’s great for me and the team, so I think Lukaku will play and it’s another test against another top striker in Europe. Hopefully the Amex is rocking and it’s another day to remember.”
